Our
school is going to have a Science Fair.
The fifth grade classes will prepare for our
role as "scientists
in the making" by designing and
creating original science fair projects. In
order to do this, we must not only
understand the scientific method but be able
to complete lab reports using this method.
To be better prepared to construct our
awesome projects, we will study the water
cycle, the basics of plate tectonics,
weathering and erosion, and force and
friction. We will learn about these things
while exploring the causes of natural
disasters.
Teacher
note: These are the
first 5 links on our
Natural Disaster home
page. They all have a
movie and quiz. Your
computer must have the
macromedia plug-in for
the movie to play. You
can download it if
necessary.
You will
complete your Natural
Disaster's project. You
will present your
learning and project to
your classmates and
guests. During the
presentation each team
member will be expected
to explain their
specific area of
expertise. You will
prepare a crossword
puzzle, gameboard, game
show simulation, or some
other form of evaluation
for your classmates.
