Mr. Jim Gustafson, Interim Superintendent

In January, 2008, Mr. Gustafson was appointed Interim Superintendent by the Board of Education. Mr. Gustafson has worked in the field of education for many years. He has been a teacher, principal and  business manager.    He will return to his job as business manager for our District July 1, 2008.

 

 

District Goals

Teach for success by building upon individual student strengths and adjusting for weaknesses utilizing an assortment of styles, strategies and assessment techniques.

Combine the efforts of teachers, administrators, students and parents to improve and enhance respect for oneself and others.

 

 

 

 

New Superintendent appointed!


Mr. Gregory Buchanan

The Board of Education of Golf School District 67 is pleased to announce that Mr. Gregory Buchanan has been named Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2008.  Mr. Buchanan currently serves as the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources and Student Services at Community Unit School District 200 in Woodstock, Illinois.  He has held that position for eight years.  His prior professional experience includes employment as Special Education Supervisor, Assistant Principal, Special Education Teacher, and Speech/Language Pathologist.

 Mr. Buchanan is completing the requirements necessary to earn a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.  He already holds a Specialist degree in Educational Administration, a Masters degree in Learning Disabilities and a Masters degree in Educational Administration.  He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Governors State University, University Park, Illinois. 

 The new superintendent was selected from a pool of over fifty applicants.  In addition to interviews conducted by members of the Board of Education, administrators, teachers, parents, staff, and the community served as members of district interview committees.  After careful consideration, two candidates were interviewed for a second time by the Board, and a finalist was identified.  A site visit was then conducted in Mr. Buchanan’s school district.
