Community Relations
The School Board and Administration of Golf District 67 believe that connecting with the community and engaging stakeholders is one of the primary responsibilities of citizen school boards. Engaging the community is both complex and vital to the success of the students in the school system.
On this page you can find links to our community partners and listing of activities in which District 67 schools are participating.
Golf School District 67 is engaging the community in three ways:
-
Establishing community partnerships with Morton Grove and Niles community organizations including libraries, the North Shore Senior Center, the Niles Township ELL Parent Center, park districts, village departments, other school districts, chambers of commerce, businesses, and more;
-
Engaging District 67 community members in dialogues on key topics that will influence decisions made by the Board of Education; and
-
Involving parents and other community members in educational initiatives through school volunteer programs and other programs focused on student learning.
Niles Township Schools ELL Parent Center
The Center serves as a welcome resource for parents to support them in advocating for their children's academic achievement. Programs are crafted to meet parent needs and encourage parental involvement and leadership in the community at large. Ultimately the Center strives to provide the skills and tools to understand and navigate the U.S. educational system for the rich and diverse tapestry that is the backdrop for twenty schools (Niles North, Niles West, and their Pre-K-8 feeder schools) in Skokie, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, and Niles.
Center Objectives:
1) Literacy - so that parents can effectively communicate
2) Access to Community Resources - so that parents can support raising healthy children
3) Parent Education - so that parents themselves can model life-long learning
The center is located at Skokie School District 68

non-profit group of visionaries who want to
help local entrepreneurs feed their communities
in a seasonal weekly event.
It is our belief that by working towards these goals, we can help our village and our neighbors thrive, enhance the reputation of our community, provide a forum for public recreation and create a temporary town square that focuses the good will of our area into a fun, lively, and family-friendly festival.
