Early Kindergarten Entrance

At Golf School District 67, we understand that each student’s learning journey is unique. That’s why we offer an Early Entrance to Kindergarten and First Grade option for children who demonstrate exceptional readiness—academically, socially, and developmentally.

This opportunity is part of the District’s Accelerated Placement Program, which is designed to meet the needs of students who may benefit from learning experiences beyond their assigned grade level. Early entrance allows eligible students to start Kindergarten or First Grade before reaching the typical age requirement.

What to Know

  • Early entrance is based on a comprehensive evaluation of each student’s readiness.
  • The program aligns with Board Policy 6:135.
  • The District follows guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education and will adjust policies as needed based on updates to the Accelerated Placement Act.

Is your student ready?

If you believe your student may benefit from early entrance, we encourage you to explore this option. The process includes readiness assessments and collaboration between families and district staff to ensure the best educational path for your student.
