It is with great excitement that we welcome you to the 2021 - 2022 school year! This school year comes with a new sense of excitement and anticipation, especially given the educational environment we have all witnessed over the past 18 months or so. As always, our academic focus in classrooms, led by our AMAZING Hynes teachers, will incorporate literacy, problem solving, mathematics, critical thinking, writing, & much more!

Hynes is quite a special place! It is a well-maintained building filled with strong teachers and a richly diverse student population. We are a true “neighborhood” school, steeped in community tradition, as well as being a multi-generational school where some parents drop their children off at the same school entrance they once passed through as students themselves! For those of you who are new to Hynes, it’s easy to recognize what makes us so special - the warm, family feeling among staff and students, the commitment to caring for all students, and maintaining high expectations for all of our learners, which includes academic, social, and behavioral growth. These things are among the many that contribute to the charm of our school.

Hynes staff and students work hard, each and every day to produce evidence of achievement at or beyond state and local standards. Our teachers work to differentiate instruction for students, making data-driven, but student-centered decisions so that the needs of each student can be met. Our classrooms are high-energy, engaging, and appropriately challenging for all of our students. Every adult here strives to support our students in every way, and to work in partnership with our families.

My role as Principal is to support all Hynes stakeholders, and it is what I love to do! As much as I am celebrating, consoling, assisting, evaluating, training, helping, and coaching each day, I also know that I learn something each and every day from the students, teachers, and parents of Hynes - and this is what makes my job most enjoyable. The impact of our school in our community can never be overstated!

I am honored to serve this community, and as a former Hynes student myself, I am a product of the effect of what a positive, caring educational experience can have on a child. As no website can fully encapsulate the true spirit of a school, please feel free to contact me for more information at any time!
